Get Wend for Mac.
A small menu-bar app that listens for notes from your phone, runs them through Claude on your machine, and streams the result back. Free during alpha.
Not notarized yet. macOS Gatekeeper will warn you on first launch. Right-click the Wend icon in Applications, choose Open, then Open again in the dialog. One-time step.
Install in 30 seconds.
- 1
Download the DMG
The download starts immediately. ~42MB — universal binary, runs on Apple Silicon and Intel.
- 2
Open it and drag Wend to Applications
Standard macOS install. The DMG shows a Wend icon and an Applications shortcut — drag one onto the other.
- 3
Right-click → Open the first time
Because the build is not yet notarized, double-clicking will be blocked. Right-click (or Control-click) the Wend icon in Applications and choose "Open". Click Open in the dialog. You only do this once per machine.
- 4
Look for the W in your menu bar
Wend lives in the menu bar — top-right of your screen. Click it to open the onboarding window, scan the QR with your phone, and send your first note.
What you’ll see.
Menu-bar icon
A small W glyph at the top of your screen. Click for the onboarding panel and to see the daemon's tunnel URL.
Onboarding window
QR code (or 6-digit OTP) to pair with the phone, plus a status row showing your current Tailscale or local URL.
No window after that
Once paired, Wend is invisible. Notes you send from the phone trigger claude -p in the background; results stream back.
Push notifications
When a run completes, your phone pings — no need to keep the app open. Configure per-note in the phone app.
Get the phone half.
Wend is a two-piece app. The Mac runs the work; the phone is where you write, send, and read. The iPhone build is in TestFlight beta — link goes live alongside the App Store launch.
For the careful.
